About Me
I currently teach 7th and 8th grade English As A Second Language (ESL) in a public school in Texas. This has been my first full year in this position.
Our school is in the process of becoming an AVID demonstration school, and I attend the AVID conferences with my school.
The past 9 years I was a self-contained ESL teacher in 3-6 grades; three of those years I was the bilingual teacher.
My first teaching position was 3 years as a Spanish teacher in high school.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish, and I am certified in Texas to teach 1-8 grade all subjects (English and/or Spanish), 1-12 grade ESL, and Secondary Spanish Language.
I work with mostly at-risk students and find it very challenging. My hope is that I can bring the Texas curriculum to my students in a way that matches my beliefs about teaching and learning.
Also, I am building a business as a distributor for USANA Health Sciences, a company that develops pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements and preservative-free skin care products. Visit my blog at www.teach4USANA.blogspot.com for more information about a healthier you.

Wow that must have been quite a change for you — shifting from elementary aged kids to middle school.
What would you say is the thing you’re most able to appreciate about it?
Nice getting to know a little more about you
Make it a great day,
Andrea
